Mr. Wong Hua Choon, Willie

FOUNDER, Director

Age 59. He was trained in world leading Thermal Spraying Coating Company Tocalo Japan, as an R&D Engineer. He was a Regional Technical Sales Manager in Sulzer Metco in charged of post merger Thermal Spraying Coating market development and support. He has worked for a renowned Singapore based Marine Engineering Services Company Horiguchi Engineering taking charge of Thermal Spraying Coating R&D and Sales. As Founder of the Frontken Group, Mr. Willie has enormous experience in setting up Thermal Spraying Coating and Engineering Services Companies across Asia Pacific.

Mr. Willie was involved in NASA project while he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Idaho, USA. He has completed the Executive Master in Business Administration at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Graduated Top in the Batch, he was also the sole recipient of the 2009 Furama Ltd Endowed Book Prize Award. He also holds an Advanced Management Program (AMP) Certification from NTU-Berkeley (Haas Business School, California). He was the proud winner of the Outstanding Entrepreneur Award at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2009, and Spirit of Enterprise 2012 Award by SOE Singapore and he was awarded as Business Luminary under Promising SME500 campaign, 2015 by SMBA Singapore.

As the Founder of the company, Mr. Willie is actively joining back the company's business activities starting 2022.

Ushiyama Taro

Senior Director, Technology

Mr. Ushiyama Taro, is Senior Director, Technology, WWG Engineering Pte Ltd. He is also Senior Director, Products, WWG Technologies Pte Ltd. He is presently engaging with WWG Capital as Corporate Advisor, Business & Technology Consultant in Green Technology and also spearheading Semiconductor related projects.

Ushiyama-san is a veteran in semiconductor industry with more than 30 years of business and technological experience in vacuum deposition equipment and thin film related products. . He worked for ULVAC Inc. from 1981 and retired at 2010 as Director of ULVAC Group of Companies and Division GM for Customer Support. He has been posted by ULVAC to countries like China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and responsible for the local business and technical support. He has been actively engaged as Member of Committee in many industrial associations ranging from SEMI Japan, TEPCO CHAdeMO Council (Rapid charge system for Electrical vehicle) and SEAJ. He has many years of working experience with companies like Toshiba, Hitachi, Fujitsu, NEC, Sanken, KOMAG, Epson, etc.

Mr. Ushiyama san has studied at Nuclear Research Institute of IHI, for graduation research of Tokai University, Japan.

Franco Gan

Chief Technology Officer

Franco Gan is CTO of many WWG Companies. He is bringing in a new dimension of Digital Technology Tranformation within the WWG ecosystem.

Franco is a speaker and an inventor of leading intelligent IoT and AI solution creator, with the purpose of creating a high quality and well-performed services with cutting edge technology. Graduated in Computer Science from UPM, Malaysia and members of ACM and IEEE, Franco Gan is a Blockchain and Machine Learning consultant and an international speaker.

He works closely with clients to create a better tomorrow through “out of box” digital inventions, which could enhance wellbeing, productivity, communication, networking, and lifestyle; as well as building a strong base of repeat business and service as the #1 requested AI consultant.

Promote mutual learning, development and strengthen topics related to AI and its business potential, where IoT and AI development has gradually became a part of our daily lives.

Dr. Kurnia Wira

Associate Scientist

Dr. Kurnia Wira is an Associate Scientist at WWG Engineering Pte Ltd. Apart from being a well-known figure and long-time friendship in the industry, WWG Engineering is taking best benefits and maximum leverage of Dr. Wira’s prior vast research, projects and hands-on experience in areas of surface and material related engineering development work.

A PhD in Nuclear Engineering/Plasma Physics from University of Washington, Seattle, USA. and B.Sc in Physics and Mathematics from Nanyang University, Singapore.  His academic research was carried in Aerospace & Energetic Research Lab, USA; Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, Germany and Institute of Manufacturing, Singapore. Dr. Wira is the founder & technical director of Tech-Serve Engineering. He was also Founder of NanoScience Innovation Pte Ltd and LabWorks & Supplies Pte Ltd. He has advised companies in petrochemical, defense, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries on materials performance, equipment refurbishing, surface engineering etc. He has developed IP protected nanopowder synthesis system and then developed their applications.

As a Project Manager in Metalock (S) Pte Ltd (current MTQ Ltd), Dr. Wira was involved in organizing under-utilized high-tech facilities such as thermal spraying (plasma, HVOF and arc spraying), plasma nitriding and electron-beam welding & cladding. He has later established and managed the Advanced Engineering Division including the processes. His responsibility was to develop new business to industrial sectors such as oil tool, petrochemical & aerospace through development of new applications using these processes.  Dr. Wira has been an Associate Scientist at Hitachi Critical Facilities Protection Pte Ltd, where he advised and provided solutions to company on various technical matters.

Presently, Dr. Wira is a Convener of WG-4 (Material Specification), ISO/TC-229 Technical Committee for Nanotechnology; establishing ISO and local standards in nanotechnology. He is an Adjunct Faculty, Singapore Institute of Technology; conduct classes from undergraduate to graduate level. He is an Associate Scientist, Critical Facility Pte Ltd, to advise and provide solutions to company on various technical matters.
