A Gigantic Cam Shaft

At WWG Engineering, we have always pledged priority resources to cater big, large, huge.... and gigantic mechanical parts refurbishment works. This time, a gigantic cam shaft of Hitachi-MAN B&W 7S70MC-C Main Engine. Length 9.4m, max gear wheel 2.0m X 8 tons.
Works involved Surface Hardness Monitoring, Shaft Cold Straightening, Undercutting Turning Machining, Shaft Laser Cladding of Stellite 21, PWHT, Finishing Machining, NDT (MPI) and most importantly, works under ABS Class Surveyor approval....etc. Biggest challenge has been keeping all 9 journals to within 50 microns run-out.
